New Delhi: Aluminium prices on Wednesday rose Rs 1.35 to Rs 258.10 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in April increased Rs 1.35 or 0.53 per cent to Rs 258.10 per kg in 714 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.

Copper futures gain on higher bets

Copper futures on Wednesday rose Rs 11.75 to Rs 875 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for April delivery grew Rs 11.75 or 1.36 per cent to Rs 875 per kg in a business turnover of 994 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.

Zinc futures rise on widening positions

Zinc prices on Wednesday inched up 70 paise to Rs 270.50 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for April delivery traded higher by 70 paise or 0.26 per cent at Rs 270.50 per kg with a business turnover of 107 lots.
